2 goals in 2 minutes to rescue a point
Europa Point were looking to bounce back from defeat on the opening day of the season in their second fixture against Lynx FC. Lynx opened the scoring through Omar Salah El-Din who finished off a fast counter attack from close range. The opponents doubled their lead in the 65th minute through a corner. Albert Holm punched the ball clear but it was headed back into the danger zone and EPFCs Sam Nicholson was unable to head the ball off the line.
Five minutes of added time was given and with a two goal deficit to make up the game looked lost. But in the 93rd minute captain Martin Falkeborn broke free on the left hand side and put a cross in for 16 year old Aleksay Bogostanwski who slotted home from 6 yards out. With time against them the boys pushed for an equaliser. Aleksay nearly got in again with thirty seconds to go but was tackled in the box winning the team a corner. With the last chance of the game Tyler Garratt whipped the ball into the box and Adam Gracia netted the equaliser with a towering header at the front post.
Great team spirit shown by the lads to get back into the game and they will be looking to carry that spirit over the international break to get to winning ways in the derby against Europa.
